White Mountain Adventures

The soaring peaks of the White Mountains are a sight to behold.  There are few things more exhilarating than climbing to the top of one of these peaks, relishing in the views that unfold in the valleys below.  However, if you aren’t quite up for one of these hikes, which can definitely be challenging, don’t fret; there are plenty of fun and interesting ways for you to enjoy the views and to experience these rugged peaks.  One of the most popular mountain-top adventures in the state is the Mount Washington Cog Railway.  Mount Washington is the tallest peak in New England, and the cog railway takes you straight to the top, without all of the exertion of a hike.  The trip takes a total of 3 hours round trip, and offers some of the most scenic panoramic views in the Mountain Adventures in the White Mountains of New Hampshireentire White Mountain range.  The Cog Railway is open through November, so it’s also an excellent place to witness the incredible explosion of color during the fall months.

If you’re looking for more mountain top adventures during your stay at our Inn, we also recommend the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway.  There, you’ll find a 80-person cable car transporting visitors to the summit of Cannon Mountain, which stands at an incredible 4,080 feet.  The entire journey takes only 10 minutes, but offers unparalleled views.  Travel up to the peak on a clear, sunny day, and you’ll see the mountain ranges of four states, as well as Canada.  At the top, there are walking trails and an observation deck, which enjoys a stunning 360 degree view.  The aerial tramway stays open through October 15.
