When the weather turns warm, one of the coolest things a guest can do in New Hampshire is explore Mt. Washington. The road to the top of the mountain opens and the Cog Railway train starts up.
Both of these are two very COVID safe activities. These pictures are old but I still remember taking the train up Mt. Washington for the first time. I also remember the wind on the autoroad. The Mt. Washington Auto Road and the Cog Railway are about a forty minute drive from the Sugar Hill Inn. The drive goes past breathtaking fall foliage. After your adventure, have lunch at the Mt. Washington Hotel. Enjoy the beautiful views from the porch. Another bonus to this adventure is anyone can do it.
The view changes as you get farther and farther up the mountain. A guide gives you the history of the area and the train.
At the top of the mountain, you are given time to explore. Dress warm!
Making it to the top is a bucket list item!
